Strategic Educational Master Planning
College of the Desert created a new Strategic Educational Master Plan in 2008. The most recent prior plan had been created in 2003.
The creation of the Plan was coordinated by the Planning Council (on-campus, off-campus) according to the recommendations of the SEMPC committee. The Planning Council contracted the Voorhees Group to facilitate the creation of the Strategic Educational Master Plan.
As of May 1, 2008, the process had reached the point of creating a Strategic Educational Master Plan, Version One. This Version One was reviewed over the summer and into the first weeks of fall 2008 semester and was finalized into a Strategic Educational Master Plan, Version Two Final as of November 1, 2008.
During the fall 2008 semester the Planning Council also reviewed and revised the Mission and Vision statements of the college which appear on the College's website; they are also to be found in publications of the college such as Class Schedules and annual Catalogs.
Questions regarding Planning may be addressed to the
Office of Institutional Effectiveness at 760/773-2500.
