Welcome to the Lab (Alumni Computer Lab)
In addition to the 19 computers located in the main area of the Library, 23 computers are available inside the Library’s Alumni Computer Lab. The Lab is open to currently enrolled COD students and is an excellent choice for students who are working on an extended project and for those who might need some technical assistance using the software or equipment.
About the Lab
· 23 Dell PCs
· HP printers
· 1 Epson Stylus color printer
· Software: Office 07 (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint), FrontPage, MS Access, Internet
· 1 Lab Assistant available to help with technical issues or questions
· (Note: Adaptive work station with scanner is now available in the main library.)
The Lab is intended as a quiet study area and students are invited to access a wide range of computer resources here. The purpose of the Lab is to provide resources to meet computing needs that support our students’ formal education; as such, personal activities (chat rooms, e-mail unrelated to class assignments, games, etc.) are not an appropriate use of College resources and will not be allowed. Such personal use of College resources may result in suspension of lab privileges; Library staff will determine what is or is not appropriate use and their decision is final.
As with all other computer resources on campus, users of the Alumni Computer Lab must adhere to the Desert Community College District’s Acceptable Use Guidelines. Violation of the District’s Acceptable Use Guidelines is grounds for loss of technology privileges. If you have not read the District’s Guidelines, please do so now.
