Student Right-To-Know Disclosure

In compliance with the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act of 1990, it is the policy of the Desert Community College District to make available its completion and transfer rates to all current and prospective students.

Beginning in Fall 2007, all certificate-, degree-, and transfer-seeking first-time, full-time students were tracked over a three-year period, and the completion and transfer rates of this group are listed below. This is a very narrowly defined group and does not reflect all transfer students. These rates do not represent the success rates of the entire student population at College of the Desert, nor do they account for all student outcomes occurring during and after this three-year tracking period.

Based upon the group defined above, 17.2% attained a certificate, degree, or became "transfer-prepared" during a three-year period (Fall 2007 to Spring 2010). Students who are "transfer-prepared" have completed 60 transferable units with a GPA of 2.0 or better.

Based upon the group defined above, 16.1% transferred to another postsecondary institution prior to attaining a degree, certificate, or becoming "transfer-prepared" during a five semester period (Spring 2008 to Spring 2010.)

These percentages compare favorably with percentages of community colleges similar in size to College of the Desert. More information about Student-Right-to-Know rates and how they should be interpreted can be found at the Chancellor’s Office, California Community Colleges "Student Right-to-Know" website located at http://www.cccco.edu/ChancellorsOffice/Reports/StudentRighttoKnow/tabid/1465/Default.aspx.

Call the COD Office of Institutional Research for more information.
