College of the Desert

In order to create the vision for College of the Desert’s future growth and expansion, the College embarked upon a study process that took nearly two years.  After months of meetings with community members and campus groups, along with thorough research, College of the Desert completed its Educational Master Plan and embarked on a related Facilities Master Plan.

These plans defined our future for the next decade and led to the successful passage of Measure B, which will fund the new buildings, the needed infrastructure and the many renovations that are both required and necessary to fulfill our mission.

A new College of the Desert Campus Plan is now being drafted which will help us assign priorities for projects.  It will determine the overall plan for the location of buildings and roads and will summarize the new building projects and the overall renovation and infrastructure repair.

The new and renovated space, along with expanded permanent facilities in the eastern and western portions of Coachella Valley, will assure tomorrow’s students – and the community as well – of a bright future filled with opportunity to grow and learn.

At College of the Desert, we are excited about a future that will be centered on student needs for generations to come.
