2012 Alumni Association Hall of Fame Inductees Honored
Nine outstanding people were inducted into the COD Alumni Association’s Hall of Fame on April 28 at a dinner in Rancho Mirage.
Dan Martinez (Indio City Manager), Harley B. Patrick (Owner/President L&R/Hellgate Press), Jason Powell (Director of Strings and Asst. Band Director, Palm Springs High School) and Dianne Russom (Director, McCarthy Family Child Development and Training Center, COD) were chosen for the Alumni Award. Ellen T. Hardy, Ph.D., is the Faculty Award winner. Shea New is the recipient of the Adjunct Faculty Award. Lee Ann Weaver won for Outstanding Support Staff, and the Leadership Award went to Steve Renew, Director of Maintenance and Operations. The Outstanding Community Leader Award went to John Wohlmuth (Palm Desert City Manager).
The evening’s entertainment featured pianist Nick Robles and College of the Desert’s Jazz Singers, conducted by Tim Bruneau and accompanied by pianist Joel Baker. COD Journalism instructor Laurilie Jackson was the emcee.
