Instructions for using the on-line application
The Application for Employment form is provided as a convenience for those who wish to apply for positions at College of the Desert.
IMPORTANT!: Since a signed application is required by College of the Desert, the on-line application must be printed out and mailed to the College (please see address below). Applications must be received by the Human Resources Office no later than the final due date. If you are applying for a faculty position and do not meet the minimum requirements but feel you are qualified for the position, you will need to fill out the Faculty Equivalency Form.
For all positions, please fill out the Confidential Data Form and submit it with your application.
The applications are Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files. When you click on the links below, Adobe Acrobat Reader should start immediately and the application should begin to download on your computer. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat on your computer, or if Acrobat does not start when you click the link below, hit the BACK button on your browser (or click the link at the top of this page) to return to the Human Resources Home Page. Click "Get Adobe Acrobat". This will take you to Adobe's site, where you can download the latest FREE version of Acrobat reader.
The Administrative/Faculty and Classified Staff Application files are quite large and may take a few minutes to download onto your computer (especially if you are accessing this page with a dial-up modem line). Please be patient--it would take much longer for the application to arrive over the mail!
To fill out the form, click the text field in which you wish to type and start typing. Most fields (e.g. "Name" and "Date") allow for only one line of text to be entered. If the field allows for more than one line of text (e.g. the "Duties" or "Additional Comments" fields), then you may press the ENTER key to enter information on a new line.
When you are finished entering the information in a field, press the TAB key to go to another field. Click the check boxes to insert a check mark. If you wish to make a correction or change information in a field, click inside the field and make the changes, then press the TAB key to go to another field.
After you have finished filling out the application, use the PRINT command on your browser to print the application. You must then sign the application and mail it to the address below:
