College of the Desert's Marks Art Center Presents the "Annual Student Scholarship Exhibition," May 1 - May 25, 2017. The Artists' Reception was Thursday, May 11, from 5 - 7 p.m., which is free and open to the public.

The Marks Art Center is once again presenting its annual student scholarship exhibition. Students majoring in Art, Architecture, or Digital Design and Production (Graphic Design) are eligible for scholarships made possible by the Dumont Foundation, as well as Nancy H. Bacon, Ruth Stark, and Joyce Norton.

This year, nine students received scholarships: Astrid Acero, Kyra Coleman, Anthony Daniels, Melissa Enrique-Gonzalez, David Gonzalez Silva, Johnie Harrell, Jasmine Osorio, Allen Triplett, and Forest Haze Vasquez. Some of the students’ artwork is also for sale, thus providing an excellent opportunity to support students while acquiring affordable, original art. In addition to work by COD students, the Marks Art Center will again showcase artwork by students from the Palm Springs Unified School District in collaboration with the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery, in an exhibition entitled "Spot On: A Tribute to Yayoi Kusama."

The Walter N. Marks Center for the Arts (MAC) is a non-profit cultural and educational facility; committed to excellence, MAC provides a venue for creative exploration and community engagement. Open Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., and by appointment; always free & open to the public.
