Fall Registration Begins August 4 at COD
College of the Desert (COD) began enrolling students in August for fall classes which begin on Tuesday, September 2.
COD offers classes for just about everyone: strengthen your job skills, prepare for a technical career, complete the first two years of your four-year Bachelor’s degree, complete your continuing education requirements, learn English as a Second Language, or complete a high school diploma. The college offers over one hundred degree and certificate programs so there’s something for everyone.
For returning students, registration begins on Monday, August 4, according to a priority system which is designed to allow students who are almost finished with their academic programs to register first, get the few remaining classes they need so they can move on with their career plans.
New students may begin online registration on Monday, August 18, after completing an online application. New students must complete assessment tests and meet with a counselor to create a Student Educational Plan and attend orientation. These steps take time, so students who plan to begin taking classes at COD this fall should get started now. Everything is online and the Counseling Center is open to answer questions.
There is no application fee to apply to College of the Desert and California residents pay only $46 per unit. For full-time students, an average course load of 12 units is only $552 plus some miscellaneous fees. There are numerous services designed to ensure that students are successful including financial aid, tutoring, study skills workshops, career counseling, and many more.
