College of the Desert Announces Online Learning for 2021 Winter Intersession and Spring Semester

College of the Desert will continue to offer courses predominately online during the upcoming 2021 Winter Intersession and Spring Semester, with at least 95% of all sections being delivered completely in an online format.

Programs that have external agency and legal mandates that require face-to-face instruction will be prioritized first, with preference being given to offering all necessary clinical and lab sections of Nursing that require hands-on instruction. Classes following this hybrid approach will follow all College, county and state guidelines for in-person learning.

“When planning the upcoming semesters, we carefully considered the safety of our students, faculty and staff and we believe this plan will provide our students with the safest, least disruptive approach to earning their degrees and certificates during the pandemic,” said Superintendent/President Joel L. Kinnamon, Ed.D.

The College will continue to restrict campus access and will follow all state and county protocols. All student services will continue to be available online.

The College is assembling a “Physical Return to Campus Plan” that will evaluate and facilitate all of the requirements needed for a slow, safe and sustainable return of employees and students to workspaces and pre-designated lab classes for required in-person instruction.

Applications for Winter and Spring are currently being accepted. To apply, visit www.collegeofthedesert.edu and click on the “Apply Now” button on the left side of the College’s homepage. Course registration will begin on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
