College Plans Preview Day for Local High School Students
College of the Desert will hold a College Preview Day for local, invited high school juniors and seniors on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event will help these students become familiar with a college campus and learn how to apply for college.
Students will go on a guided walking tour highlighting important campus offices such as financial aid and admissions, significant classroom buildings as well as the student services center, campus bookstore and library. In addition to visiting a college Nursing class in progress, students will participate in a campus career fair event and Student Life activities.
“Campus Tour & Preview Day is a great opportunity for the students of our community to learn what COD offers and get great tips about what to expect during the application process and beyond,” said Avante Simmons, Tech Prep Specialist, for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Transitions Office.
