The College of the Desert (COD) Partnership and Community Education (PaCE) program will host the 2012 Great Decisions lecture series which will be held on Tuesdays, Feb. 14, through Mar. 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Pollock Theatre located on the COD campus.
Great Decisions is an educational program developed by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA). The FPA is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring the American public to learn more about the world. The program will provide educational materials through the FPA independent publication to increase participation.
Tickets for the full lecture series are $105 per person. Individual tickets are $18 in advance and $23 at the door. The briefing book is $25. Tickets are sold on a first-come basis. Donations will be accepted for the PaCE Training Scholarship Fund.
College of the Desert’s Partnership and Community Education programs include training and certification programs, personal enrichment programs, and serves as a testing location for industry licensing. Some of the opportunities include training for security guards, emergency medical technicians, OSHA certification, electronic health records system technologists, pharmacy technicians, EKG technicians, landscaping certification, and more. PaCE also offers instruction for licensing renewals in BAR Smog Licensing and training for those who wish to take the Notary Public exam. Personal enrichment courses include tennis, computer programs like Excel and PowerPoint, and English as a Second Language courses. The facility also serves as a testing site for the Serve-Safe Food Handler exam and Microsoft Office Certification. Programs can also be developed and customized to meet your business needs.
