Liberal Arts with Emphasis in Health Education and Nutrition
These courses introduce the basic competencies and practice within the various fields of health. These include: Health Education, Public Health & Wellness Promotion, and Nutrition. Courses are designed to introduce the student to the broad base of study needed for the future health professional who will design, conduct, promote, evaluate, and manage activities to help improve the health of people. Students will develop the necessary skills to work within various population groups.
Students gain exposure to the different needs within these diverse population groups in the context of eliminating health disparities and to identify possible obstacles to their access to the various services provided by health professionals. Students will be introduced to the effective management of public, private, and government organizations.
