Associate Degrees and/or Certificates are not automatically awarded when students complete the requirements. Students must submit the
Application to Graduate form or
Intent to Earn Certificate form at Admissions & Records by the following deadlines.

Application to Graduate is normally processed within 10-15 business days. However, processing could take 20-25 business days during peak registration and high volume months (December, January, February, and May).
Prior to submission of Application to Graduate
- It is strongly recommended that students meet with a counselor regarding degree requirements.
- Students must have completed 40 units, at least 12 units at COD
- Official transcripts from all colleges attended must be on file with Admissions & Records.
- Transcripts are required even if courses are not transferred.
- If courses were taken prior to 1995 student may be required to contact the institution to provide course descriptions and GE information.
- Foreign transcripts must be evaluated by an
approved agency
Prior to submission of Intent to Earn Certificate
- Students must have completed or have in progress 6 units at COD.
- Official transcripts must be on file with Admissions & Records for all courses to be applied to the certificate.
