Online classes may be accessed at http://desertonline.net. Courses are offered over the Internet in a variety of discipline areas, as indicated under the specific course listings in the Schedule of Courses provided each semester.  Online courses are as transferable as their companion regularly scheduled classes, have the same prerequisites as traditional on-campus courses, and uphold identical standards of academic quality.

Online courses generally follow the traditional sixteen week semester, but the coursework is completed asynchronously via email, electronic bulletin boards, and chatrooms.  Students must provide their own computers and Internet Service Providers and be proficient in using a word processing program, email, and the Internet.  Individual classes may have additional prerequisites as specified in their online syllabi.
