The Resource Room - The Resource Room is the place to find tools & materials for building knowledge. This site also contains suggestions for teaching vocabulary.
The Key New Readers Newspaper - This site contains easy-to-read articles on a variety of topics. These are marked "easy reading" for the new reader and "mid-level reading" for those pre-GED students. Lesson plans, when available, are linked to the articles. All materials on this site may be reproduced.
The Nobel Channel - Based on Nobel Prize achievements, this site offers resources and historical references with compelling interactive media. Included is an Interactive Learning Studio of lesson plans based on the Nobel Prize themes: Peace, Physics, Chemistry, and Literature. Exercises contain multimedia elements, references, resources, and Teacher Bulletin Boards. (Note: For optimum viewing, a minimum Internet access speed of 56KB or greater is recommended.)
CNN Learning Resources - The Learning Resources site offers web-delivered instruction using current and past CNN San Francisco bureau news stories. This material is intended for adult literacy and educational purposes. Though the intended audience is adults, instructors and learners of all ages are encouraged to use this material to promote better literacy.
