Winston S. Churchill Collection

Formally dedicated on February 21, 1997, the College of the Desert Library's Winston S. Churchill Collection is now available for public perusal.

This very special collection, donated to College of the Desert by Mr. Harvey Sarner, already contains over 1,000 books, including many rare and complete sets of books about and authored by Winston S. Churchill.

Already noted for containing more books and complete sets of books than many collections of its kind, the College of the Desert Winston S. Churchill Collection is one of the most complete collections in the United States, and will continue to grow.

Desert Collection

The acquisition of this fine collection of books about our local desert and about deserts of the world has been one of the main projects of the Friends of the College of the Desert Library.

The Desert Collection includes books and periodicals about deserts from the Colorado Desert to the Sahara. Some of the rare and out-of-print books are now housed in a hand-crafted cabinet and are only for use in the library.
