General Information

Online classes are offered over the Internet in a variety of discipline areas, as indicated under the specific course listings in the Schedule of Courses provided each semester. Online courses are as transferable as their companion regularly scheduled classes, have the same prerequisites as traditional on-campus courses, and uphold identical standards of academic quality.

Online courses generally follow the traditional sixteen week semester, but the coursework is completed asynchronously via email, electronic bulletin boards, and chatrooms. Students must provide their own computers and Internet Service Providers and be proficient in using a word processing program, email, and the Internet. Individual classes may have additional prerequisites as specified in their online syllabi.

Getting Started

Once you have registered for your online classes through WebAdvisor, here are the next steps you need to perform to access your class(es):

1.      Login at https://collegeofthedesert.blackboard.com/webapps/login/ and follow the instructions.

2.      Once you login, you will see a list of all the classes in which you are enrolled AND which have been made available to students by the instructor.

3.      If you get logged in but don't see all (or any) classes in your list of courses, it is probably because the instructor has not yet made them available to students. All courses will be made available before the first day of the semester.

4. If you still have questions, please contact your instructor by email.
