The Office of Student Life invites all College of the Desert students and staff to the first CODtalk of the Spring 2022 semester!
In collaboration with the Black Student Success Center, this CODtalk will feature a presentation by Jarvis Crawford who will be discussing the history of African-Americans in the Coachella Valley, and Black History Month events and activities.
Jarvis Crawford, born and raised in the Coachella Valley, and currently works with the City of Palm Springs as Community Center Manager at the James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center. There, he has managed and implemented new structures, programs and activities serving the community. A graduate of Palm Springs High School, Jarvis holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Langston University in Oklahoma. For over 20 years, Jarvis has contributed time to many boards, groups and committees--all with a focus on community service, education and youth leadership.
