Riverside County Launches COVID-19 Campaigns

As part of a community action plan to reverse the trend in rising cases and stop the spread of COVID-19, Riverside County officials are giving away 10 million masks as part of their new "Masks are Medicine" campaign, which includes a "Take the Pledge to Stop the Spread" campaign.

Both campaigns focus on fighting the spread of COVID-19 in our community and encourage people to practice good handwashing, physical distancing and covering the face. County health officials also recommend avoiding large groups of people and parties or social gatherings where different households are together. By taking these steps, we can decrease our risk for infection by 95 percent.

Masks will be distributed by local nonprofits working in the community, as well as houses of worship, senior meal delivery programs and local businesses. In addition, everyone who visits a county or state-run testing location will receive a mask.

Riverside County is asking everyone to join the fight against COVID-19 by making a pledge or promise to wear a face mask whenever leaving home. For more information, visit https://rivcoph.org/pledgetofight.

Remember, masks are medicine. Take the pledge today.
