Basic Correctional Officer Training Opportunity

If so, College of the Desert has a great training opportunity for 10 self-sponsored students who are looking for a future career as a Correctional Deputy!
 
The Basic Correctional Officer Training provides entry-level training for correctional officers. The course will introduce students to adult corrections procedure, interviewing, counseling techniques, defensive tactics, public relations, and oral and written communications. Security and supervision techniques in adult institutions are also covered.
 
The Correctional Officer Training meets or exceeds the mandates of the California Board of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Mandatory Class Orientation: Tuesday, January 11, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in PSA, Room 19A

Pre-Requisite: Physical Assessment and Interview with PSA Staff (occurring in December)

Credits: 16.00
