Pillar 1 Team

Role

Collaborate and advise the campus community on activities associated with the 1st Pillar of the Guided Pathways Framework. Recommend and plan activities that support efforts to create clear curricular pathways and programs.

Products/Goals

• Advance Equity: Remove barriers that today's students face, particularly students of color, first-generation students, students from low-income backgrounds, and working adults.

• Transform Institution: Develop a highly structured, comprehensive, approach to systemic change to improve students' attainment of skills, credentials, and socioeconomic mobility. 

• Redefine Readiness: Fundamentally shift the conversation to what it means to put students first, encouraging College of the Desert to focus on our readiness for students rather than students' readiness for College of the Desert.

• Redesign Supports: Recognizing that students need more than financial support and resources to be successful.
