KCOD Receives National Recognition

College of the Desert and KCOD 99.9 CoachellaFM is proud to announce that Laurilie Jackson, Instructor of Media Production​ at College of the Desert and KCOD’s Faculty Advisor, has been nominated for the Best Radio Faculty Advisor in the United States by the prestigious Intercollegiate Broadcasting System. Since its foundation back in 2011, Jackson has been a guiding force at KCOD.

“I am overwhelmed by this national nomination. My goal as a faculty advisor has always been to inspire students to learn, develop skills, create, be confident and find their voice. It gives me great pleasure to watch so many walk through our doors and succeed," said Jackson.

The station has also received three other prestigious award nominations from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System. For the third time in four years, KCOD has been nominated for Best Community College Radio Station in the United States, Best Event Promo and Best Use of Video in the Radio Studio.

Ceremonies for the awards will be held in New York City on Saturday, March 7, 2020, during the annual Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Conference.
