Important Updates for Spring 2022

Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning for another term, we welcome you to the College of the Desert Roadrunner family.

As we begin the Spring 2022 term, we’d like to share some important and helpful updates.

First, as you may have seen, all students taking an in-person class in the Spring 2022 term must complete the COVID-19 Vaccine Affidavit/Verification and Exemption Request Form. This process is essential to tracking compliance with the Desert Community College District’s COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement Policy. Once you fully complete this form, you will receive up to $100 in digital Amazon Gift Cards.

Next, please remember masks are required on campus while inside buildings and social distancing is encouraged wherever possible. Our goal is to provide a safe environment to complete your educational goals. We encourage you to view our COVID-19 safety protocols and requirements site for more information.

It is also essential to know for the Spring 2022 term that parking permits are not required; however, all parking rules and regulations will be enforced. For example, students should only park in designated student spaces and avoid parking in handicapped or accessible parking spots unless they have the appropriate placards and permits.

If you have not already ordered your textbooks or downloaded your online textbooks, we encourage you to review your syllabi and order these items immediately, as they provide more opportunities for success!

If you need a quiet place to study, read, or do homework, each College of the Desert Campus has a designated space for you. Our Tutoring and Academic Skills Center (TASC) and Library sites will provide you with all the details you need.

As you may have heard, for the Spring 2022 term, College of the Desert has an opportunity like no other! Students can earn up to $100 per credit hour to help them achieve their educational goals. There’s still time to add more classes now or take advantage of our late-start courses. If you’re unsure of which types of classes to take, we encourage you to meet with a counselor in person or online.

Lastly, we want to reinforce that we care about you and your success. If you find yourself in need of additional support, we have a variety of student support services available to help you on your journey. Your success is our success. We’re here for you in more ways than one!

Again, we welcome you to the Spring 2022 term, and we look forward to seeing you on campus, in our Zoom rooms, and participating in our campus events and services.

On behalf of all the faculty, staff, and leadership at College of the Desert, we wish you all the best this term and hope you stay healthy, safe, and hopeful.
