October is LGBTQ+ History Month, a national observance celebrating the history, culture, and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals. Founded in 1994 by educator Rodney Wilson, the month also honors the ongoing fight for equality and inclusion.
This year’s theme, “Activism and Social Change,” recognizes the efforts of LGBTQ+ advocates who have shaped progress and inspired generations. College of the Desert’s GSD Pride Center invites the campus community to join in celebrating and reflecting through events throughout October and November.
