The Glass Menagerie Comes to the Pollock Theatre
College of the Desert Theatre presents The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, directed by Denis McCourt. Set in a modest St. Louis apartment, the play follows Amanda Wingfield, a former Southern belle struggling to provide for her children after her husband’s abandonment. As Amanda urges her son Tom to take responsibility and pushes her shy daughter Laura to find a husband, tensions grow between dreams of escape and the realities of their lives. When Tom invites a friend to dinner as a potential suitor for Laura, the fragile balance within the family is tested. Known for its tenderness, beauty, and emotional depth.
