College of the Desert Celebrates Undocumented Student Success Week

Students participating in Student Success Week

College of the Desert will recognize Undocumented Student Success Week from October 19-23 with a series of events hosted by the Dreamer Resource Center and campus and community partners.

Throughout the week, students, faculty and staff can connect with resources, learn how to support undocumented students, hear from COD alumni and build community. Events include a resource fair, UndocuAlly training, student information session, professional alumni panel and picnic.

TODEC Resource Fair

  • Date: Tuesday, October 20
  • Time: 12:30-3:30 p.m.
  • Location: Multipurpose Room (MPR)
  • Kick off the week with food distribution, labor attorney resources and immigration services.

Faculty & Staff UndocuAlly Training

  • Date: Wednesday, October 21
  • Time: 2-4 p.m.
  • Location: Cravens Student Services Center, Room 269
  • Learn how to help build a supportive campus environment for undocumented students.

DSIG Student Info Session

  • Date: Thursday, October 22
  • Time: 12:30-1:30 p.m.
  • Location: Dreamer Resource Center
  • Learn about community service and volunteer opportunities that allow students to gain experience while earning up to $4,500 per academic year.

Professional Alumni Panel

  • Date: Thursday, October  22
  • Time: 6-7:30 p.m.
  • Location: Multipurpose Room (MPR)
  • Hear from alumni as they share their experiences, career paths and advice for achieving success.

DRC/ALAS Picnic

  • Date: Friday, October 23
  • Time: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Location: Civic Center Park
  • Enjoy food, games and conversation with fellow ALAS and Dreamer Resource Center students
