Business Administration

Business Administration is the study of basic principles and techniques to effectively manage and lead organizations.


The Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer, also called the Business Administration AS-T Degree, is designed for students planning to transfer to a CSU and major in general business or a more specialized field of business such as finance, accounting, international business, marketing, or management. The intent of Business Administration AS-T degree is to assist students in seamlessly transferring to CSU’s. Students should consult with a counselor for specific information regarding the transfer requirements of their preferred college or university.


The Business Admin AS-T will provide students with a broad-based business degree which will enable them to pursue any number of career options such as Director of Finance, Certified Public Accountant, Director of Marketing, Human Resource Director, Small Business Owner/Manager [which would include retail], Financial Planner, Stock Broker. Even students who choose not to major in business administration find that coursework in the field can improve their ability to think critically, problem-solve, manage their lives, and understand the economic issues that engage our world, our country, and our communities.


This degree requires students to complete 60 CSU transferable units including completion of CSU GE or IGETC and 28 units in the major with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better. Title 5 requires that students earn a grade of “C” or better in all major coursework. There are no additional graduation requirements.
