College of the Desert offers two choral ensembles, Chamber Singers and Jazz Singers, along with applied music opportunities for music majors and voice classes in traditional and contemporary voice for non-majors and students pursuing certificates in Musical Theatre or Commercial Music. The choral ensembles are under the direction of Timothy Bruneau and Dr. Darlene Romano oversees the vocal major program and the musical theatre program.

 

The Voice Program at COD offers a series of beginning, intermediate and advanced classes in vocal technique and performance skills, as well as private lessons through the Applied Program. Emphasis is on a solid and flexible classical technique, which can be applied to all styles and genres. Chamber Singers, Jazz Singers, Musical Theatre Workshop and Musical Theatre Performance classes provide students with instruction as well opportunities to showcase their skills in public performance settings. ​
