Adult Basic Education

College of the Desert offers programs for adults interested in completing a high school diploma, preparing for the GED exam, learning English as a Second Language Noncredit (ESLN), or improving basic skills. There is an Adult Basic Education (ABE) and ESLN Counselor that will assist you in planning your education, advance your workforce credentials, and learn important life skills.

Adults who enter the high school completion program can transfer credit received from previous high schools they may have attended inside or outside of the United States, as well as obtain credit for military service, technical schools attended, and for work experience.

  • High school diploma classes are offered online and/or via Zoom sessions
  • GED preparation classes are offered online
  • ESLN classes are offered via Zoom sessions and in person
