Mental Health Area of Focus: Trauma and/or Substance Use

Program Name: Seeking Success

Program Description:

  • An 8-week present focused, coping skills program designed to simultaneously help individuals with a history of trauma and substance abuse.
  • Available in group or individual format and for female, male, or mixed gender groups.
  • $20 gift card upon completion
  • The program is offered at high school and college campuses as well as other community locations.
  • Available virtually

Program Criteria:

  • For individuals ages 16-59
  • Have experienced a recent traumatic event (with no diagnosis/treatment for PTSD)
  • Completion of a screening form required
  • Completion of demographic and pre- and post-measures required

Mental Health Area of Focus: Skill building; Mentorship; Stigma reduction; LGBTQ support

Program Name: Peer-to-Peer Program

Program Description:

The Peer-to-Peer program consists of these different components that you can elect to participate in:

CAST (Coping and Skills Training) Program:
  • A 9-session group (that can be offered twice a week) that helps participants build self-esteem (learning to appreciate self and others), make healthy decisions, monitor and set goals, practice personal control in managing moods, drug use and school smarts.
  • Participants receive a student notebook that contain all the lessons.
  • $20 gift card upon program completion
  • Available virtually
Mentorship Program:
  • The program’s Peer Youth Specialists are trained as mentors to support participants who may be experiencing stress or need help with coping skills.
  • Using a system of measurable goals and benchmarks, the one on one sessions are designed to encourage the mentees to be participants in their own success.
  • Peer mentoring is a proven method in the development of positive coping skills and resiliency. Each mentee will meet weekly with the mentor for 32 sessions.
  • Available virtually
LGBTQ+ Support Groups:
  • A 10-session psychoeducation support group
  • $20 gift card upon completion
  • Available virtually
Speaker’s Bureau:
  • 30-45 minute presentations in which the Peer Youth Specialists share their personal stories of challenge and recovery as motivation for others who may be experiencing difficulty.
  • Schedule a presentation for your group, or request to attend as a guest to an upcoming presentation.
  • Available virtually

Mental Health Area of Focus: Stigma reduction; Mental health awareness

Program Name: Stand Against Stigma

Program Description:

  • Mental health education and stigma reduction focused
  • 60-minute presentations in which two presenters share their lived experience with mental illness and their personal stories of recovery to reduce stigma and increase hope and help-seeking
  • Available Virtually

Program Criteria:

  • Available for general community, employers, medical staff, legislatures, faith communities, landlords/housing officials, etc.
  • Sign up on interest list to either schedule a presentation for your organization, or request to attend an upcoming presentation.
