Student Activities

Club Rush

Club Rush is held at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. All COD students, staff, and faculty are invited to attend and participate. Clubs and newly chartering clubs are required to participate. Club Rush allows students the opportunity to learn about the active clubs on campus, meet and greet the club's current members, join a club, and receive information on how to charter a new club. Club Rush is sponsored and organized by the Office of Student Life, ASCOD, and ICC, and provides food, drinks, snacks, and music for attendees.

CODtalks

CODtalks bring together a variety of expert speakers and panel presenters to the College of the Desert community. CODtalk presentations allow speakers to share their experiences, inform, spread awareness, and answer any questions from their attendees. Each CODtalk presentation focuses on a different topic or theme, which makes every discussion unique! CODtalks are free and open to the public. Presentations are held once a month during the Fall and Spring semesters at College of the Desert’s Palm Desert, CA, campus.

Spirit Week

During Spirit Week, students are encouraged to jump out of their comfort zone and join in on the campus festivities. Each day of Spirit Week has a theme and allows students to show off their creativity through their outfits. From pajama day to sport day; never be afraid to express yourself! Be sure to enjoy our judgment free campus as students, staff, and your ASCOD Executive Officers all partake in dressing up for Spirit Week.

Homecoming

Celebrate your Roadrunner pride as the entire campus of College of the Desert is filled with fun events for all students to enjoy. All the activities and events during Homecoming are centered around bringing the community together and celebrating school spirit! Homecoming also gives an opportunity for COD alumni to return to campus, participate in events, and appreciate how far they have come since attending COD. Whether you are a returning alumnus basking in the memories or a currently enrolled student looking towards your future, the invitation from COD is wide open.

Welcome Week

Whether you are arriving for your first day of classes or a returning student, start each semester on the right foot by stopping by one of our Welcome Week tents. You can find Welcome Week tents throughout the campus during the first week of the Fall and Spring semesters. Tents are run and operated by our College of the Desert staff and faculty. Each Welcome Week tent is ready to help answer any of your questions, concerns, offer directions to your classes, and sometimes even provide you with free informative pamphlets and COD merchandise!
