As the peer advocates for the students of College of the Desert, ASCOD strives to promote higher education, a sense of community, diversity, student engagement and act as student liaisons to the COD staff, faculty, and administration. ASCOD exists to ensure that the needs of the students are enhanced and met in order to better serve and help make student's College of the Desert experience a memorable one.

Eligibility Requirements Checklist

In order for an application, election, or appointment with ASCOD to be considered, a student must meet the following qualifications:

Executive Officers and Student Trustee
A.) Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
B.) Must be enrolled in at least six (6) units at College of the Desert
C.) Must have completed a minimum of six (6) units at College of the Desert when term of office commences 
D.) Shall maintain and pass at least six (6) college units per semester at College of the Desert during the Fall and Spring semesters
E.) Must be available to attend ASCOD Student Senate meetings every Monday from 2pm-4pm
F.) Term of office shall be (1) full academic year
G.) Must serve on at least (3) ASCOD and COD Standing/Academic committees 

Independent Senators
A.) Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 at COD, or must have a GPA of 2.0 at a previously attended institution
B.) Must be enrolled in at least six (6) units at College of the Desert
C.) Shall maintain and pass at least six (6) college units per semester at College of the Desert during the Fall and Spring semesters
D.) Must be available to attend ASCOD Student Senate meetings every Monday from 2pm-4pm
E.) Term of office shall be (1) full academic year
F.) Must serve on at least (3) ASCOD and COD Standing/Academic committees 

Application Information

ASCOD 2024-2025 Applications: March 13, 2024

ASCOD applications will offically open at 9:00am on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

Application Deadline: April 19, 2024

ASCOD applications close at 12:00pm on April 19, 2024.

Campaigning: April 22 - May 3, 2024

Eligible candidates will be notified, and may campaign for their respected candidacy between April 22 and May 3, 2024.

Voting: May 6 - 9, 2024

Voting will be held online between May 6-9, 2024. Polls will close at 11:59pm on May 9.

Election Results: May 16, 2024

Official candidate winners will be announced through the College of the Desert and posted online.
