Calendar of Events and Workshops

TRiO ETS staff will deliver a presentation regarding the services for the 2025-2026 academic year, field trip opportunities, one-on-one mentoring, college application systems, and more. The schedule is as follows:

• 12th Grade: 10:00 am-10:30 am

• 11th Grade: 11:10 am-11:40 am

• 10th Grade: 12:50 pm-1:10 pm

• 9th Grade: 1:50 pm-2:20 pm

We invite all families to attend Desert Hot Springs High School’s Back to School Night where TRiO ETS will be tabling! Learn more about our program, the services we are offering this fall, and sign up in person!

FREE SAT prep will be available to program participants in two Saturday sessions to prepare for the SAT exam. Participants will learn test-taking techniques, what to expect on the SAT exam, practice SAT questions, access resources, and develop individualized SMART Goals specific to the SAT.

Students will learn the basics of saving, budgeting, responsible spending, and how to set financial goals.

Build the headphone headband, rig up the speaker drivers, and experiment with stereo sound. Explore how speakers and other electroacoustic transducers turn electricity into sound, then learn about the historical technologies that made modern headsets possible.” This is a self-paced activity to be done on your own time. Paint a set of model planets, then construct a miniature solar system that really spins. Explore the ins-and-outs of space travel — from the history of space exploration, to the challenges of astronaut training, to amazing facts about life on the International Space Station.” This is a self-paced activity to be done on your own time.
