Provides important background information on the medical assisting profession and interpersonal skills, medical ethics and law, medical terminology, telephone techniques, scheduling appointments, medical records management and management of practice finances. The billing and coding module offers the skills needed to solve insurance billing problems, how to manually file claims (using the CPT and ICD-10 manual), complete common insurance forms, trace delinquent claims, appeal denied claims and use generic forms to streamline billing procedures. You will work with the main coding manual ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS

National Certification: Upon successful completion of this program, students would be eligible to sit for the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) National examination offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
