Berger Faculty Innovation Center
Center Information
The Berger Faculty Innovation Center provides faculty with a collaborative environment for instructional creativity, experimentation, and professional growth. Designed to support innovative teaching and learning practices.
Center Hours
The Center is available to faculty members during regular campus hours. Key fob access is required and is granted to all faculty members.
Staffing
The Center is supported by Elder J. Linares, Instructional Support & Technology Specialist, who provides faculty assistance with instructional technology, Canvas support, accessibility best practices, and innovation-centered practices during regular campus hours, Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm.
Equipment
- Surface Pro 3 devices and Dell laptops are available for instructional and innovation‑related use within the Berger Faculty Innovation Center only. These devices are not available for checkout or removal from the center.
- All equipment access is managed by the Instructional Support & Technology Specialist, and faculty must request use of devices during their time in the center.
- To ensure licensing compliance, security, and system compatibility, software installations on BFIC devices must be completed by the Instructional Support & Technology Specialist or a faculty member designated as a local administrator.

To schedule the large classroom area (Liberal Arts 12), please send an email request to Elder Linares, elinares@collegeofthedesert.edu for assistance. Please use the calendar link on the left to view the current schedule.
General Information
Food and beverages are permitted. Faculty are asked to clean up after themselves when leaving the center.
The center is reserved for faculty use only. All areas are available for faculty use with the exception of the Instructional Support & Technology Specialist office, which is reserved space.
