The Marks Art Center from College of the Desert in Palm Desert would like to invite artists who are 55 or more years young to apply. The exhibition dates will be from March 2nd through March 26th, 2020.
Few exhibitions have focused on the work of seasoned artists, those who have lived and experienced so much of what life has to offer, and are now ready to share their understandings via their art production. This exhibit will center on the talents of aging artists and concentrate on the visual messages that stem from their acumen and lived experience. It is an opportunity for 55+ artists to share their artistic visions and insights.
The Marks Art Center seeks work of all media – including but not restricted to -- painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, digital imaging, mixed media, and installations. Submit up to 3 works that show off your ability and creativity. There are no thematic restrictions and all submitted works will be considered. The main criteria for selection are creativity and fresh approaches. Artworks must be completed within the last 2 years and no larger than 84” (7 feet) in any direction.
Please submit your digital files to the gallery’s director, Dr. David Goetz, at firstname.lastname@example.org by January 31st, 2020, to be included in the jury process. Accepted work will be notified via email by February 7th and must be delivered to the gallery between February 10th and 17th. Artwork must be picked up at the conclusion of the exhibition between March 30th and April 2nd.
