Scholarship Workshops

The Financial Aid Office hosts workshops for students that need assistance with our Scholarship Application and writing their thank you card to their donor. Sign up for a workshop NOW! Please bring a draft of your thank you letter to the workshop. Please use our sample templates and tips below to create your draft before joining the workshop. 

If you would like to attend an in-person and virtual workshop, check out our 2023 dates/times below and RSVP today. Those that RSVP for virtual workshop will receive the zoom link the day before the workshop to their mycod.us email.

Thank You Card Requirements

Students awarded a scholarship, will receive a notification Summer 2023 via their MyCOD email account. As a scholarship recipient, students will be required to submit an approved thank you card for their donor(s). Students will have until the end of the term to complete the requirement, otherwise, the scholarship will be withdrawn. Please be sure to complete your thank you card requirement as soon as possible to ensure your scholarship arrives in a timely manner. 

Thank You Card Tips 

When writing a thank you card, we encourage you to share the following information with your donor(s): 

  • Importance of the scholarship received to you and/or family
  • Impact of award on your academic career
  • Positive impact on your future
  • Your background, goals, interests and activities

As you write your thank you card, consider the following when writing your thank you card to your donor(s):

  • Express your unique personality
  • Be sincere
  • Express enthusiasm
  • Write clearly and precisely
  • Express gratitude with the words thank you
