Residency Questionnaire

Please note that you may be requested to provide additional information during the review process. During peak processing please allow up to 10 business days for the forms to be reviewed after all requested documents have been received.

Students who do not have the documentation required for residency determination by the College, will need to pay the out-of-state fees. Failure to submit all required documentation, or failure to drop classes before the term begins and/or by the published course deadlines may result in paying nonresident fees.

It is recommended that students submit their requests in a timely manner to ensure there are no delays with their enrollment records. For additional questions, please email the Admissions & Records office at or call 760-773-2516.

Residency Determination Dates

The Admissions & Records Office is currently accepting Residency Reclassification Requests for the following terms: Summer 2024, Fall 2024. 


Semester Proof of Residency Must Be Dated Within This Time Frame
Summer 2024 (Begins June 10th, 2024) 6/8/2022 to 6/8/2023
Fall 2024 (Begins August 26th, 2024) 8/24/2022 to 8/24/2023

As per California Code of Regulations Section 54026, the burden is on the student to demonstrate clearly both physical presence in California and intent to establish California residence.
