College of the Desert has partnered with Parchment, a digital credentials service, to accept transcript requests online through a secure website. Parchment will facilitate your request 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Transcripts From Other Schools

If you have completed coursework at other institutions, contact the schools you have attended and request to have your official transcripts sent to College of the Desert. View the Transcripts from Other Schools webpage for additional information.

Free Transcript Request 

Students are entitled to obtain up to two (2) free official transcript copies in their lifetime (Ca. Educ. Code § 76223). Electronic delivery is unavailable for free requests and free requests are unavailable through Parchment. Free orders must be completed as a 21-Business Day request and will be mailed within four to five (4-5) weeks.

Unofficial Transcript Request

Current students may view their unofficial transcripts using the Self-Service portal. Unofficial transcripts may also be requested in person at the Admissions office free of charge with valid photo identification. 

If it has been a year or more since you have registered for courses at College of the Desert, you will be unable to access the transcript through the student portal. After one year or more of no registration activity, access to the student account closes. You may submit an admissions application to reactivate your account.

Yes, please provide any and all former names you may have had while attending College of the Desert. If you do not provide this information your order may be delayed.​​​

Once you receive a completed IGETC or CSU GE certification, it is permanently on your transcript and you do not need to request it again.​ Students are encouraged to verify their unofficial transcript within their Self-Service to verify their records.

Once you have been awarded a degree and/or certificate, it is permanently on your transcript. Please note, degrees and certificates are not automatically awarded when students complete the requirements. Students must submit the electronic Degree Application or Certificate Application.

If you are waiting for changes or updates to be made to your transcript, you should wait until you see these changes posted in your Self-Service account before you place your order.

For online transcript requests you can select either hold for final grades or hold for degree. ​​​

 

Transcript Policies

  • Photo identification is required for in-person transcript requests and pick-up.
  • In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, records are not released to a third party without signed authorization of the student.
    • An authorized individual will be expected to show photo identification before obtaining the transcript.
  • Transcripts will include College of the Desert completed coursework. Transfer credits are included only if other college coursework has been used to fulfill graduation requirements.
  • College of the Desert does not release copies of another institution’s transcript.
  • Transcript orders will be released to the student regardless of debt or financial obligation. (Title 5, Reg. 59410)
  • IGETC or CSU General Education certifications may take up to ten business days for processing.
    • General Education certifications are not available for same day requests. 
  • It is the student's responsibility to check on the completion of grade changes and the posting of degrees and final grades.
    • Students may log into their Self-Service portal and view unofficial transcript to verify the accuracy of the information before submitting a request for an official transcript.
  • Pick-up orders are destroyed after 30 days.
    • Students are responsible for new order requests and applicable fees after the 30 day pick-up window.
  • College of the Desert is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail by USPS, the receiving school, or a third-party agency/individual.
    • Transcripts will be sent to the mailing address or email address exactly as reflected on the order request. Students are responsible for new order requests and applicable fees.
  • If enrolled prior to Fall 1989, same day transcript requests may be unavailable. 
  • If enrolled prior to Fall 1989, online order requests may take up to an additional ten (10) business days. 
  • Electronic transcripts are available for online requests only. The electronic transcript is identical to the printed hard-copy transcript.
    • Please be aware that when sending a PDF transcript to yourself, it cannot then be forwarded to a different email address. Forwarding a PDF transcript makes it unofficial. If your transcript is going to a third party, you should have it sent directly to their email address. This ensures that the transcript will still be considered an official College of the Desert document.
