Prevent Registration Delays

At least 4 weeks before your registration date:

  • Submit petition to repeat a course at Admissions and Records (Course Repeat Policy)

  • If you took a required prerequisite at another institution, meet with a Counselor with your transcript in hand.

  • Pay all fees from previous semesters.

  • Attend Probation Workshop, if necessary.

Restrictions

Maximum Units

Students cannot enroll in more than 7 units in the summer and/or winter,19 units in Fall and/or Spring without an approved Overload Petition from the Counseling office. Students with approval must enroll at Admissions and Records.

Multiple Sections

Students cannot enroll in a class if they are enrolled in another section of the same course.

Prerequisites

Students cannot enroll in a course if they have not taken the prerequisites course at COD or cleared prerequisites with Counseling (760) 773-2521.

Registration Holds

Students cannot enroll until all holds have been cleared. Contact the office that placed the hold.

Repeat

Students must petition to repeat a course submitting a petition through the MyCOD portal

Students who have received approval to repeat a course must enroll at Admissions and Records.

Time Conflict

Students cannot enroll in a class that conflicts with their enrolled schedule. Overlaps of even 5 minutes are not allowed.
